I am new to this OS, using it for about a month now. I use Ubuntu 10.10 and Xubuntu 10.04 on a desktop and a netbook.

You (they) have a good mirror site. I thought it was a university mirror or a fans mirror.
I am actually trying Ubuntu and want to give Debian a try, do they have a local mirror for deb?
With Ubuntu (10.10) i am impressed to say the least. It has many features, maybe more than i would like from an OS.
And in case you are wondering, my computing knowledge is very limited. I am just a home user.

Well, i am logging into other forums as well. They have an auto email notification for answers to your posts.
Maybe you can improve somewhat your site like this, it is a nice feature.

Kalo Pasxa.

Yes, i should have looked at the whole page.
It became a habit, very fast reading and not looking at the whole page or site.
I am not sure whether it was automatic on the other sites, but i think in one it was.

Any info on Debian? Or is this an Ubuntu only site? From the posts that i read you mention many releases.

In the lack of a proper LUG we are also supporting other distros as well and Debian is surely one of our favorites. No Debian mirror in Cyprus yet.

I wonder why. It only needs 100GB or so of hard disk space and the server.

Storage in not so much an issue. Bandwidth and availability is the real concern. I am waiting for our infrastructure here in CUT (ΤΕΠΑΚ) to mature and I will propose it to the boss. :)

Availability?

What i am thinking about is how many users it's going to find in Cyprus. Being a small country, and many distros around to choose from.
Is it gonna worth the trouble of doing anything like that?

Bandwidth, it will not need much, only certain times. Based on the same facts.
